At Art College I specialised in drawing & painting, and particularly enjoyed the challenges of drawing from the life model. I developed a real interest in portraiture.
I have since worked as an illustrator and designer for two giftware companies and a decorated tile manufacturer. I have also produced book-cover illustrations and prepared artwork for an advertising agency. However, my leaning was always towards developing my portraiture & in the last 10-12 years I have focused all my energies on this.
I have been invited to many fundraising events and other public occasions to show ‘on the spot’ demonstrations. Conveying the individuality in every face is always a fascinating challenge. In this way I have created portraits for countless satisfied customers.
My work has been largely centered around the south coast of England but has also taken me to places as far afield as Australia where my portraits were met with the same appreciation.
I am now based in the busy coastal town of Poole. With it’s beautiful beaches it is a short drive from the famous Jurassic Coast & Purbeck Hills. I have been fortunate in that the area attracts many visitors & this has presented me with the opportunity to draw faces from a variety of cultures & backgrounds.
